Category: Decaf Black Tea

Tasting Notes: sweet vanilla

Description: An aromatic tea that is rich and sweet with bold vanilla flavor. The sweet vanilla notes are fragrant and comforting. Add a splash of milk to bring out the creaminess. This is our sweetest and most bold vanilla tea.

Our decaf teas are created using the CO2 decaffeination process. The advantage of this technique is that no chemical solvents are used to remove the caffeine. In this manner of decaffeination, naturally occurring CO2 is applied to the tea leaf in a circulation process which carefully uses high pressure and temperature to extract the caffeine. A very slight residue of caffeine will remain in the tea leaf, which is why we call them decaf teas rather than no caffeine teas. There will be a slight change in the character and flavor of the tea due to the decaffeination process, but the end result is an uncompromising cup of tea with no chemical overtones.

Please note: If you'd like a 100% naturally caffeine-free tea, we suggest that you try our large selection of no caffeine teas such as: herbal teas, rooibos teas, honeybush teas, and fruit tisanes.

Ingredients: decaffeinated black tea, vanilla

Steep Directions: steep 1 heaping teaspoon of tea per 8 oz boiling water, 205-212°F, for 3-4 minutes

The vanilla is bold and sweet without being fake-tasting, and it steeps into a deep, comforting cup that’s perfect for evenings. I’ve been reaching for it every night this week, and the aroma alone makes the whole kitchen smell like a bakery.

A splash of milk really does bring out the sweetness, and the vanilla is bold without being cloying. I’ve been reaching for this every afternoon when I want something comforting but caffeine-free, and it delivers every time.

The vanilla comes through bold and sweet without any fake aftertaste, which is exactly what I wanted in a decaf. A splash of milk makes it extra creamy and comforting for late evenings.
