Tasting Notes: cedar, plum, cinnamon

Description: An exquisitely crafted Darjeeling 2nd Flush that's medium-bodied with pleasant astringency and highly sought after muscatel grape notes. A delightfully smooth tea with notes of cedar, plum, cinnamon and bitter orange. A subtle floral sweet finish rounds out the tasting notes. A well balanced Darjeeling tea that is captivating.

This tea is cultivated at the Singbulli Estate which is a tea estate located at 4,000 feet elevation in Darjeeling’s Mirik Valley. Established in the 1920's by British tea planters, this estate is now owned by an Indian tea company. They've crafted an excellent reputation for producing high quality large leaf teas that are organic and fair trade.

Ingredients: organic Darjeeling Second Flush (summer harvest) black tea from the Singbulli Estate in India

Steep Directions: steep 1 heaping teaspoon of tea per 8 oz boiling water, 205-212°F, for 3-5 minutes

John ★★★★☆

The cedar note really comes through in the first sip, and that medium body holds up nicely with a bit of milk. It’s got that pleasant astringency you expect from a second flush, though I wish the plum sweetness lingered just a touch longer.
