The marzipan note really comes through on the back end, and the orange keeps it from tasting like dessert. I've been drinking it plain in the afternoon and the green tea base is smooth enough that it doesn't need sugar.
I was skeptical about orange and almond together, but the citrus keeps the sweet marzipan from getting cloying. It's smooth for a green tea too, no bitter aftertaste even when I forget and let it steep too long.
The marzipan note is what sold me — it makes the green tea base taste almost dessert-like without any added sugar. I've been having it as an afternoon cup and the almond sweetness lingers nicely after each sip.
