Category: Fruity Black Tea

Tasting Notes: brisk black tea with fruit

Description: Layers of fruit mingle with decaffeinated black tea. Strawberry and cranberry pop the most. This tea is a decaffeinated version of our Full Moon Fruit Tea. Excellent hot and iced, add some sweetener to elevate the fruity notes.

Our decaf teas are created using the CO2 decaffeination process. The advantage of this technique is that no chemical solvents are used to remove the caffeine. In this manner of decaffeination, naturally occurring CO2 is applied to the tea leaf in a circulation process which carefully uses high pressure and temperature to extract the caffeine. A very slight residue of caffeine will remain in the tea leaf, which is why we call them decaf teas rather than no caffeine teas. There will be a slight change in the character and flavor of the tea due to the decaffeination process, but the end result is an uncompromising cup of tea with no chemical overtones.

Please note: If you'd like a 100% naturally caffeine-free tea, we suggest that you try our large selection of no caffeine teas such as: herbal teas, rooibos teas, honeybush teas, and fruit tisanes.

Ingredients: decaffeinated black tea, strawberry, pomegranate, cranberry, raspberry, papaya, rose hips, safflower

Steep Directions: steep 1 heaping teaspoon of tea per 8 oz boiling water, 205-212°F, for 3-4 minutes

I was skeptical that decaf could still taste this bold, but the brisk black tea base holds up strong while the strawberry and cranberry layers hit in the background. Perfect for an evening cup without keeping me wired.

The strawberry and cranberry really do pop in this one, just like the description says. I was skeptical decaf could keep that brisk black tea bite, but it holds up perfectly for an afternoon cup without the jitters.

Evening cup that finally doesn't wreck my sleep, and honestly the berry notes are so bold I keep forgetting it's decaf. The cranberry tartness really lingers nicely on the tongue.
